 Purple Pearls Foundation was part of the Anti-Substance Abuse Program #ASAP organised by the MTN Foundation with the Wife of the Vice President Federal Republic of Nigeria in attendance

Considering the increase in the spate of drug abuse and addiction especially among females ,we are particularly grateful o be a part of the Anti-Substance Abuse Program #ASAP organised by the MTN Foundation.Speakers including the wife of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo who came in her personal capacity and also represented the First Lady of the Federal Republic; and the Chairman of the MTN Foundation agreed that Substance abuse and illicit trafficking requires a multi-stakeholder  and multi-sectoral initiative focused on advocacy, education for behaviour change aimed at discouraging first-time use and dependency on drugs; and treatment of the victims.

The pilot phase of the project is designed to be implemented in one state across the geo-political zones: Abuja, Bauchi, Imo, Kano, Lagos and Rivers States with support from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and United Nations Office in Drugs and Crime (UNODC).We are grateful to the foundation for extending the invitation to our organization, Purple Pearls Empowerment Foundation, as a member of the Nigerian Network of NGOs network
